Meet the Team

Gail McArdle Registered Physiotherapist

I trained in the UK, graduating from physio school in a specialist orthopaedic hospital in 1993 and have undertaken extensive post-grad training in many physiotherapy and rehabilitation techniques.

No two patients are the same; my training and 3 decades of experience have given me a set of skills to apply to any situation and as a result, I am able to help the vast majority of patients I see. If I can’t help you, I probably know someone who can!

Our bodies have an amazing capacity to self-heal – I see my role as providing optimal conditions for that to take place, through exercise, hands-on treatments, acupuncture or intramuscular stimulation (IMS), as well as moral support and encouragement for the journey back to optimal health and fitness.

My aim is to help you to reach for your goals and be better than you were before.

I moved to Vernon in 2012 and am thoroughly enjoying life in the beautiful Okanagan. I have met and worked with many amazing people and genuinely believe that we live in a very special place where health and wellness takes the priority it deserves.

Andrew Koppejan Registered Physiotherapist

After completing my Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2008 from the University of Alberta, I pursued several postgraduate courses and certifications, including Certifications  in GunnIMS (intramuscular stimulation) and Medical Acupuncture, as well as numerous courses in movement system diagnosis, running injury prevention, shoulder rehabilitation and sleep health.

My goal is to help unlock whatever is holding you back from doing what you love.

I have been a practicing physiotherapist for over 13 years and bring a unique skill set and perspective to movement-based problems.  Patients appreciate my thorough evaluation, clarifying education and fast-acting treatments.

I also offer sleep coaching for those in pain. Insomnia is a common problem for many people living with persistent pain – whether from chronic pain, concussion or a car accident. I combine research-backed sleep coaching with pain science education to deliver a unique approach to helping you achieve restorative sleep.

Kelly-Ann Scott Registered Professional Counsellor

I am a Registered Professional Counsellor, providing help with a wide range of issues, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, 2SLGBTQAI+, chronic pain and illnesses, among others.

After many years of working in healthcare and education in the UK, the Netherlands and Canada, I realized that I wanted to help others more directly. I wanted to create a safe, understanding, caring, non-judgemental space for people to share their mental health journey with me.

Struggles are real and so is hope!

What works for one doesn’t work for all!

I take into account you as an individual and your circumstances. I use elements of different approaches to help you explore and cope with your problems.

This helps us develop a plan together for reaching your goals, that benefits you and is unique to your situation.

I will work with you to find the best way that works for you!

Testimonials

I came to you because you are a competent, effective physio with a warm, positive, gentle personality. From your first welcome, I felt comfortable around you, and learned to trust your opinions and treatments/exercises. Your soft voice and laughter during our conversations helped me relax into the sessions. Trust is so important in close personal experiences like physical treatments… your manner established and increased my trust in what we worked on together.

The reason I go to you is because you are the only person who has given me long lasting relief. I have gone to other Physiotherapists as well as Chiropractors and you are the only one who has really helped. That’s why I send all my friends and relatives to you. Thank you so much.

I come to see you for several reasons. First and foremost is that you figure out what is happening to cause my pain or discomfort. (Sometimes the pain is long lasting as in my nerve damage after my broken shoulder; sometimes it is over worked muscles or strained ligaments that take less time to heal.) Then you give me treatments that ease the pain. You provide an exercise program to strengthen joints, or build muscle strength. Over the last nine years we have come to trust your judgement about what we need to do to stay active and healthy. You are flexible in making our appointments. You are easy to talk to. You are my physio as well as a friend! I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Professional and timely service of any kind is something of a rarity since the onset of COVID. You have been there for us through the tough times to help our quality of life at home and to enable us to work.
Very much appreciated!

I return as a patient first because of your training and how your skill and knowledge have helped me immensely over the years. Secondly, you are a great listener who listens to understand both symptoms and lifestyle context. You give great suggestions and have a genuine, gentle curiosity and empathy which creates a welcoming and safe environment.

I truly value your different approach to physiotherapy. The inclusion of acupuncture and myofascial release in your program of treatment has been a revelation. Your insistence on doing exercises the correct way and your teaching of those exercises has been really beneficial. Your sunny demeanor, competence and lovely personality when I am feeling really rough make a world of difference. I always leave your practice feeling better and more in control of whatever issue has brought me there. I am, in short, a huge fan!!!
